Uh, that would be because it is.
After I cut through the bottom of the last one while trimming it, I decided to try again. That's how it goes: some make it, some don't. I made this one with less clay, apparently-- I don't have my scale yet to measure-- as the platter isn't as wide and bowl smaller; and the shapes are a little different. But I like it well enough. I have yet to wire it off the bat. I think I should have waited on the last one as well, as it wasn't a clean job and distorted the piece. I'll let this one dry a bit before wiring.

Dangit! That's two of these things I've destroyed in a row! I let this one dry a bit before attempting to wire it off the bat-- and sliced it up like Mac the Knife.
