back to the wheel

After my move across the country, I've set up my wheel and begun to throw again. First off--- you guessed it!--- ANOTHER BOWL!

Speckled Buff, cone 5, greenware

I still get a little nervous at the idea of sitting down to throw a specific, planned item; I tend to throw almost at random. It's safer than risking failure at an intended object! If I get a bowl, say, when I started out with a pitcher in mind, I can always say, Well, that bowl came out okay. Safer, see? Anyway, I sat down with the intention of making some kind of teapot but I was thinking more of rounded shapes; suddenly--- this happened:

Thank you. There's no therapy like throwing; get yourself to a wheel or a class as soon as possible! I'm presently without a kiln and, like Blanche, must rely on the kindness of strangers. I just moved across the country and I'm looking for potters' co-ops or studios I can join to get my stuff fired.
