Minnesota Clay Co. #3 Stoneware, cone 7, greenware
Here's my first success with the #3. Very fine, smooth, dark gray clay body. Very plastic and collars well. I was not at first pleased with the handle I put on when the pot was leather-hard, but it's beginning to grow on me. I've yet to throw a lid, which I plan to make with a moderate height and I'll add a circular ring to the top for a handle, echoing the circular motif throughout the piece. No idea what I'll do for glazing; I still don't have a place to glaze and high-fire yet.
